LIGHTING & LED
Lighting applications leverage aluminium extrusions as both heat sinks and structural housings for LED strip lights and fixture assemblies. Aluminium’s excellent thermal conductivity (200-215 W/mK for 6063 alloy) enables efficient heat dissipation from high intensity LEDs, extending product lifespan and maintaining luminous efficiency. Profiles are engineered into diverse shapes Lchannel, I-beam, U channel, surface-mount, and recessed formats for residential accent lighting, commercial architectural lighting, street lighting, and industrial work lighting applications.
Typical Aluminium Alloys Used
- 6063-T5 : Industry standard for LED housing; exceptional thermal conductivity, excellent anodizing capability for silver or clear finishes, easy extrusion into complex geometries.
- 6061-T6 : Alternative for higher-load applications and structural light fixtures requiring greater mechanical strength.
Surface finishes
Architectural Finishes: Anodized clear, silver, or black; matte powder coat for modern aesthetics.
Standard Profile Types
- Angular (L-shaped) channels for two-directional lighting
- Linear (I-shaped) profiles for flat, efficient light distribution
- Custom modular profiles for integrated luminaire systems
Market Outlook : LED lighting segment growing at 12-15% CAGR, with
aluminium extrusion adoption expanding as thermal management becomes
critical for high-power LED systems.
